A Song a Day – Day 289

No music again today folks. Instead this which, oddly, made me cry. It’s a trailer for the documentary Miss Representation which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.   The film explores how the media’s misrepresentation of women has led to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence.

I was immediately reminded of how surprised I was by a passing comment by a female German friend about Angela Merkel soon after she became German Chancellor.  It wasn’t anything about her policies or competence. It was about her poor dress sense. No wonder male politicians just wear the same dark suits every day.
