A Song a Day – Day 242

Ah, the day after the day before. Post-hike hunger and tiredness have set in. Plus, it’s the first day I have to myself since I arrived back in France. A day to rest and regroup and give some thought to what I want to happen in the last four months of the year. I’ve started, and the list is already long!

Still warm and sunny

Although the weather continues to be settled – warm and sunny – we’re sliding gracefully into autumn. The shadows on the terrace have become noticeably longer.  The cicadas have receded into the distance. Dead leaves are swishing around the neighbour’s yard.  But the frog chorus hasn’t struck up again yet, and bliss! The pesky shrieking swifts have gone.

Song of the day

It seems like the perfect time for a bit of Neil Young, and what could be better than this one, Harvest Moon, by Neil Young.
