I see in today’s news that Jack Kevorkian has died. I only know him through the very excellent film You Don’t Know Jack, where he is played by Al Pacino. Kevorkian was infamous for being an advocate of doctor-assisted suicide, and said he had helped 19 people to die. If you haven’t seen the film, I highly recommend it. Whether you agree with his actions or not, Kevorkian was a fearless individual who led a remarkable life.
In other news, commiserations to Andy Murray who was knocked out of the French Open yesterday in three sets by Rafael Nadal, and congratulations to Roger Federer, who never really looked like losing.
On to the music. While Macy Gray was never a member of the Fugees (see yesterday’s post), Wyclef Jean was. I have a lot of time for Wyclef; he’s Haitian and he’s put in a huge amount of work to raise money for his country (and you might remember he tried to run for President). I love this tune, one of his best. It’s 911 recorded by Jean with Mary J. Blige.
